Where Vision
Where Vision
Our process pairs people-first design with the most advanced concrete printing technology in North America, built for precision, consistency, and form without limits.
Selective Paste Intrusion
SPI is a new language for concrete. Developed by Progress Group in Italy and installed in Caledonia, Michigan as the first of its kind in North America, our printer builds concrete one 2.8mm layer at a time. Instead of pouring into a mold, SPI injects cement paste only where the design calls for it, directly into a bed of sand that supports each piece as it forms. No molds. No formwork. No limits on geometry.
What It Makes Possible
With a 16′ × 8′ × 5′ print envelope and compressive strength up to 6,500 psi, SPI produces lattices, undercuts, and voids that casting can’t. Lighting channels, mounting points, and integral color can be printed directly into each piece, and with no tooling costs, designs can evolve freely from one-off pieces to full production runs.
Layer by Layer
The print head spreads a 2.8mm layer of sand, then 0.8mm nozzles inject cement paste into the shape of each part. The floor lowers, and the cycle repeats until the job is complete. After curing in the sand for 10 to 12 hours, the loose sand is released and conveyed back to our silos, and each piece moves on to be washed, sanded, or ground to its final finish.
Our Process
Our Process
Listening. Learning. Asking the right questions.
We begin with people. Every project starts by engaging with clients, collaborators, and end users to understand the needs and possibilities that will shape the work. Research, dialogue, and close observation lead us to the insights that inform great design.
Clarity from complexity.
We partner with clients and collaborators to turn creative freedom into solid engineered reality. We distill insights into defined goals, balance ambition with feasibility, and establish the path forward together.
Discover. Define. Develop. Deliver.
Concepts take shape. We sketch, model, and prototype, testing and refining until each piece achieves the balance of function and beauty the project demands. Our design expertise and manufacturing capability converge to reveal what concrete can become.
Concrete, reimagined.
SPI (Selective Paste Intrusion), our additive manufacturing method, injects cement paste into 2.8mm layers of aggregate, producing concrete elements with a level of geometric complexity that traditional casting cannot achieve. The process takes place in a print volume of 16' × 8' × 5' at our facility in Caledonia, Michigan — the first of its kind in North America. Each piece is then finished, assembled, and delivered with the care you’d expect from three generations of concrete expertise. Want to see for yourself? Schedule a tour. We’d love to show you.
